Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines explain how to keep Cominy useful, respectful, trustworthy, and safe.

Effective Date: September 1, 2026

These Community Guidelines explain the standards that apply to posts, comments, reviews, messages, profiles, and other community activity on Cominy.

Our goal is to keep Cominy useful, respectful, trustworthy, and safe for everyone.

1. Be Respectful

Do not:

• harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate others;
• target people with abusive or degrading language;
• encourage serious harm or violence;
• repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop; or
• use Cominy to shame, stalk, or exploit another person.

Disagreement is allowed. Abuse is not.

2. No Hate or Extremism

Content that attacks, dehumanises, or promotes hatred against people based on protected characteristics is not allowed.

Content that supports terrorist or violent extremist organisations may also be removed.

3. No Scams or Deception

Do not use Cominy to:

• impersonate another person or business;
• run scams;
• post fake opportunities;
• create misleading offers;
• request money under false pretences;
• distribute phishing links; or
• intentionally deceive other users.

4. No Spam

Do not repeatedly post:

• unwanted promotions;
• irrelevant links;
• duplicate content;
• mass messages;
• misleading engagement bait; or
• automated content intended mainly to manipulate visibility.

Reasonable promotion of your products, brand, or work is allowed where relevant.

5. Reviews Must Be Genuine

Reviews and recommendations should reflect a real experience or honest opinion.

Do not:

• create fake reviews;
• pay for positive reviews without proper disclosure;
• review your own products using another account;
• threaten users over negative reviews; or
• coordinate review manipulation.

6. Protect Privacy

Do not publish another person's private or sensitive information without permission.

This may include:

• home addresses;
• private phone numbers;
• financial details;
• passwords;
• identification documents;
• private messages; or
• other confidential personal information.

7. Sexual and Exploitative Content

Pornographic, sexually exploitative, or non-consensual intimate content is not allowed.

Any sexual content involving minors is strictly prohibited.

8. Illegal or Dangerous Activity

Do not use Cominy to promote, organise, or facilitate serious illegal activity.

Content intended primarily to help someone commit fraud, violence, theft, cybercrime, or other serious wrongdoing may be removed.

9. Keep Marketplace Activity Honest

Do not manipulate Cominy through:

• fake purchases;
• fake engagement;
• bots;
• fake referrals;
• fraudulent campaigns;
• duplicate accounts;
• misleading recommendations; or
• artificial activity intended to influence rankings or rewards.

10. Messages and Direct Communication

Messages should be relevant and respectful.

Do not use messages for:

• harassment;
• unsolicited mass advertising;
• scams;
• threats;
• sexual harassment; or
• repeated unwanted contact.

Users may block or report other users.

11. Content Ownership

Only publish content you have the right to use.

Do not knowingly upload stolen, pirated, or copyrighted material without permission.

12. Moderation

Cominy may review content and activity using automated systems, human review, or both.

Depending on the situation, we may:

• reduce distribution;
• remove content;
• disable messaging or posting;
• issue warnings;
• restrict account features;
• suspend an account; or
• permanently terminate an account.

Serious violations may result in immediate action without prior warning.

13. Reporting

If you see content or behaviour that violates these Guidelines, use Cominy's reporting tools or official support channels.

False or abusive reports may themselves result in restrictions.

14. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines as Cominy develops and new community features are introduced.

The latest version will display its effective date.
